From April 22 to 24, Katowice hosted the 18th European Economic Congress, focusing on the future of technology and the economy. Comarch, a prominent player in digital transformation, contributed significantly to the discussions, highlighting the importance of dialogue and understanding business processes in the digital age.
Key experts from Comarch, including Zbigniew Rymarczyk (Vice President and Director of the ERP Sector), Łukasz Bolikowski (Chief AI Officer), and Tomasz Stachlewski (Chief Technology Officer), participated in expert panels and provided insights to major media outlets such as Rzeczpospolita, Euronews, and Business Insider. They discussed the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, automation, and cybersecurity.
During the panel titled "Artificial Intelligence - A New Revolution," Bolikowski noted that the IT sector is transitioning from experimentation to standardized AI implementations. He emphasized a shift where employees evolve from task executors to managers of AI agents, requiring new skills such as precise prompting and result verification.
Rymarczyk pointed out that successful AI integration hinges not only on technology but also on the workforce's mindset. He stated that Comarch is transforming internally while implementing tools that enhance competitive advantage, underscoring the need for a supportive attitude towards AI among employees.
Focusing on the Polish market within the ERP systems segment, Comarch is developing digital accounting agents that automate the categorization and recording of expense invoices, freeing teams for more complex data analysis.
Rymarczyk cautioned against viewing AI as a panacea for operational challenges, stressing that effective digital transformation necessitates comprehensive internal restructuring. He highlighted that the most significant hurdle is not the technology itself but persuading employees to adapt to new technologies as supportive tools.
Stachlewski remarked on the Polish economy's openness to innovation, noting a shift from fascination with Generative AI to practical applications. He warned against limiting AI modernization to IT departments, advocating for a broader organizational approach to leverage AI as a catalyst for change.
Stachlewski also addressed the critical issues of data sovereignty and cybersecurity, emphasizing that companies using external infrastructure for AI training must ensure their data remains isolated. He reiterated that cybersecurity is an ongoing process requiring continuous partnership to mitigate threats.
The discussions at EEC 2026 highlighted that the market is on the verge of a new automated B2B reality. With robust engineering capabilities and strategic support, Comarch is well-equipped to compete with global firms, offering intelligent and secure software solutions to guide businesses through digital transformation.
