On April 9, 2026, Corning Optical Communications broke ground on a new manufacturing facility at SEGRO Logistics Park Stryków, Poland. This marks the third production and logistics building for Corning at this location, reflecting the company's ongoing expansion in the region.
The new facility will encompass over 35,000 square meters and is part of Corning's strategy to meet the growing demand for advanced fiber-optic solutions, particularly for AI-driven data centers. Corning has been a significant player in the telecommunications sector since the development of low-attenuation optical fiber in 1970 and has operated at SEGRO Logistics Park Stryków since 2006.
Arkadiusz Pawlak, Expansion Programme Manager at Corning Optical Communications Polska, noted that this expansion is essential for increasing production capacity in response to market demands. He emphasized that the decision to expand at SEGRO was influenced by the quality of the facilities and the park's strategic location.
Bartosz Michalski, Director of Logistics at SEGRO Poland, remarked on the importance of this long-term partnership, stating that the expansion demonstrates SEGRO's capability to adapt to the evolving needs of its clients. The new building will be constructed to meet BREEAM Excellent New Construction certification standards, highlighting a commitment to sustainability.
The cornerstone-laying ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including local authorities, business partners, and representatives from both Corning and SEGRO, showcasing the collaborative effort behind this project.
SEGRO Logistics Park Stryków is a key development for SEGRO in central Poland, strategically located near major transport routes, enhancing its attractiveness for logistics and manufacturing operations. Upon completion, Corning's total operational space at the park will exceed 115,000 square meters, reinforcing its position as a major employer in the region.
This expansion underscores Corning's growth trajectory and positions Poland as an appealing hub for advanced manufacturing and logistics in Europe.
