The EdUP Welding Cup 2026 took place in Vinnytsia, bringing together 26 skilled student welders from various vocational education institutions across Ukraine. This competition aimed to enhance students' professional competencies, promote skilled trades, and strengthen collaboration between education and industry.

Over three days, participants demonstrated their technical skills, creativity, and determination through a multi-stage competition format. The event included a theoretical phase with electronic testing, a practical phase involving various welding methods, and a creative segment where contestants presented their own crafted works.

The competition featured four welding techniques: manual arc welding (111), semi-automatic gas-shielded welding (135), argon arc welding (141), and gas welding (311). The jury evaluated the participants based on the quality of execution, creativity, composition, and precision of their work.

Winners were announced in each category, with notable performances including:

  • Method 135: 1st place - Volodymyr Soturchak (Lviv), 2nd place - Anatoliy Bronzov (Vinnytsia), 3rd place - Ivan Drobenko (Dnipro)
  • Method 141: 1st place - Kyrylo Vasyanovych (Kyiv), 2nd place - Bohdan Dyachuk (Kovel), 3rd place - Yaroslav Muzychenko (Chernihiv)
  • Method 111: 1st place - Vasyl Skydan (Chernivtsi), 2nd place - Kyrylo Vasyanovych (Kyiv), 3rd place - Oleksiy Dranko (Zaporizhzhia)
  • Method 311: 1st place - Ruslan Stehura (Svalyava), 2nd place - Ivan Lukaniuk (Ivano-Frankivsk), 3rd place - Dmytro Mozharivskyi (Zhytomyr)

In addition to the competition, specialists from Summit demonstrated modern welding equipment, allowing educators and trainers to experience innovative solutions firsthand. Participants praised Kemppi's equipment for its arc stability, user-friendly interface, energy efficiency, and weld quality. A particular highlight was the compact laser welding machine from Maxphotonics, noted for its speed and precision when working with thin materials.

This event was part of the "Public-Private Partnership for Improving Vocational Education in Ukraine" project (EdUP), supported by the Swiss government, Swisscontact, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Summit has a longstanding commitment to supporting talented youth, acknowledging their role in shaping the future of the country.
