HP has launched the Multi Jet Fusion 1200, an industrial 3D printer aimed at making advanced 3D printing technology more accessible. With a price tag below $60,000, this model is tailored for smaller design offices and corporate development teams that require a compact yet fully functional machine for rapid prototyping and production.

Ondřej Štefek, co-owner of 3Dees Group, noted that the Multi Jet Fusion 1200 responds to the growing demand from clients needing a machine capable of quick iterations and handling sensitive data while minimizing prototyping costs. Previously, customers had to choose between HP's larger production solutions and smaller SLS machines from competitors. The MJF 1200 presents a viable alternative that merges industrial capabilities with a compact design.

This printer employs the established Multi Jet Fusion technology, which has become a standard in industries such as automotive, medical, aerospace, and defense. Unlike SLS printers, MJF technology utilizes two agents applied simultaneously across the entire layer, resulting in parts that exhibit high isotropy, sharp details, and robust mechanical and chemical resistance.

The MJF 1200 complements HP's existing Jet Fusion 5600 production line, which remains the flagship solution for high-performance plastic part manufacturing. Both printers share the same powder and design principles, allowing customers to scale production seamlessly from the MJF 1200 to the MJF 5600 without changing technology.
