On May 18, 2023, Omron introduced the M1 series compact inverter, aimed at improving automation processes with its advanced features. This inverter is equipped with nine motion control methods and achieves a high starting torque of 200% at 0 Hz through vector control utilizing a speed sensor.

The M1 series is compatible with both asynchronous and permanent magnet motors, supporting configurations of up to 128 poles, and features a maximum output frequency of 590 Hz. It also provides dual ratings for high and light load modes, enhancing its versatility in various applications.

Safety is a significant aspect of the M1 inverter, which includes Safety Torque Off (STO) functionality that meets ISO 13849-1 standards, along with two safety inputs and an EDM output. Users can configure the inverter using the integrated Sysmac Studio development environment, which offers tools for setup and monitoring.
